At Maine Motors Giveback, we understand that your pickup or work truck might have seen better days, but that doesn’t mean it can’t make a difference. Whether your truck has become a bit rustier or has high mileage, we’ll gladly accept it and handle all the pesky paperwork, so you don’t have to. From the bustling streets of Portland to the scenic routes around Acadia National Park, your truck can serve a greater purpose than just sitting idle.
Living in a state known for its outdoor adventures, many Mainers rely on their trucks for everything from hauling kayaks to navigating rugged terrains. It’s only fitting that when it’s time to part ways with your trusty vehicle, you consider donating it. Your contribution can help support local charities and programs, and we make the entire process as seamless as possible!

Condition & logistics
Running vs. Not Running
Whether your truck is still purring like a kitten or rusting in the driveway, we accept running and non-running vehicles alike. If your truck has reached the end of its road, it can still make a difference!
Title Issues
Got title issues? No problem! We handle all paperwork for you, ensuring a smooth transfer regardless of any complications. The only thing you need to worry about is how good it feels to give!
Storage and Pickup Logistics
If your truck is hogging space in your garage or driveway, we arrange convenient pickup. Just let us know where it’s parked, and we’ll take care of the rest – easy peasy!
Title transfer & paperwork
In Maine, transferring the title of your truck is a straightforward process. You’ll need the original title signed over to Maine Motors Giveback, along with a completed Bill of Sale. Maine does require notarization for some documents, but don’t worry; we guide you through every step. Make sure to return your license plates to the DMV to avoid any future fees. We’ve got your back!
Tax deduction for this donation
Your donation could qualify for a tax deduction, typically ranging between $500 and $5,000, depending on the truck’s value and condition. We’ll provide a 1098-C form for your records, ensuring you can claim that deduction when tax season rolls around. It's a win-win!
Local context — Maine
Maine is a unique blend of rural charm and rugged landscape, making it a haven for truck owners. Many of our donations come from individuals facing life changes such as divorce or downsizing, or simply those who have relocated and no longer need a heavy-duty vehicle. The tight-knit communities here often rally together during tough times, and donating a truck can be a meaningful way to support your neighbors. With plenty of truck-heavy neighborhoods like the industrial parks in Lewiston and the fishing towns along the coast, trucks are a crucial part of daily life in Maine.
